roller grinding mill

roller grinding mill

YMG95 grinidng mill is a pendulum roller grinding mill engineered to produce consistent fine and superfine mineral powders from limestone, gypsum, barite, kaolin, bentonite and other non-metallic minerals.

The new machine targets operators who need reliable, round-the-clock output with tight control over product fineness and lower energy consumption per tonne.

1. High fineness, stable output

The YMG95 combines a high-chromium grinding roller and ring with an air-classifying system that returns coarse particles to the grinding chamber until they reach the target size. This closed classification loop holds finished fineness within a narrow D97 band — typically 38 to 180 micrometres (80 to 400 mesh) — without over-grinding. Operators can adjust the classifier speed to shift fineness and capacity to match changing product specifications.

2. Built for continuous production

The mill is designed for 24/7 duty. Positive-pressure air classification and bag-filter collection keep the circuit dust-tight, while hardened wear parts hold dimensional stability over long service intervals so that output quality drifts only minimally between replacements. A hydraulic roller lift opens the grinding chamber quickly, reducing downtime for inspection and wear-part changes.

"With the YMG95 we set out to solve the two problems plant operators complain about most: drifting fineness and avoidable downtime," said Tanzanian client.  "The classifier and the wear package work together so the mill keeps delivering the same product at the end of a campaign as it did at the start."

Key features at a glance

YGM95 Grinding System Process Flow and Foundation Design

YGM95 Grinding System Process Flow and Foundation Design

1. Air-classified fineness — variable-speed classifier returns oversized particles for re-grinding, holding D97 within a narrow band without over-grinding.

2. Wear-resistant grinding set — high-chromium rollers and ring keep dimensional stability and consistent quality over long intervals.

3. Dust-tight closed loop — positive-pressure classification and bag-filter collection keep dust inside the circuit, protecting the plant and operators.

4. Low specific energy — optimised grinding kinematics and classifier set-points cut power use per tonne compared with conventional mills.

5. PLC control and remote monitoring — automated start-up, load control and interlock logic with plant-wide telemetry for fast fault diagnosis.

6. Fast maintenance access — hydraulic roller lift opens the chamber quickly, cutting downtime for inspection and wear-part changes.

One machine, a wide mineral portfolio

The YMG95 processes the most common non-metallic minerals into powders used across construction, coatings, paper, plastics and chemicals — from limestone and gypsum for building materials, to barite for drilling mud weighting, and kaolin for paper coating and ceramics.

The mill can be supplied as a single unit or integrated into a complete production train with feeding, conveying, storage and packing systems. PLC control supports automated start-up, load control and remote monitoring for plant-wide supervision.

Market context

Demand for consistent, energy-efficient mineral powder is rising across building materials, paper, coatings and plastics, where downstream processes increasingly require tight particle-size specifications. By pairing a stable classifier with low specific energy consumption, the YMG95 is positioned as a cost-effective option for producers who want to upgrade output quality without re-engineering their entire line.

Pricing and availability

The YMG95 is available for order now, with delivery in approximately 2 weeks depending on configuration. A process trial service is offered to size the correct duty point for a customer's specific material and target fineness.

YMG95 grinding mill - FAQ

Q1. What materials can the YMG95 grind?

The YMG95 processes the most common non-metallic minerals — limestone, gypsum, barite, kaolin, bentonite, talc, marble and dolomite — into fine and superfine powders used across construction, coatings, paper, plastics and chemicals.

Q2. What finished fineness does it deliver?

Finished fineness (D97) ranges from 38 to 180 µm (80–400 mesh), set by a variable-speed classifier. Operators adjust the classifier to shift fineness and capacity without changing the grinding set.

Q3. What throughput and power does it require?

Production capacity is 6–18 t/h depending on material and target fineness, driven by a 132–185 kW main drive plus a 22–30 kW classifier. Feed size should be no more than 30 mm with moisture below 6%.

Q4. How does it reduce energy use?

Optimised grinding kinematics and classifier set-points cut specific energy consumption per tonne compared with conventional mills, and the closed classification loop prevents over-grinding, which would otherwise waste power.

Q5. What support does YMG offer?

YMG provides process trials to size the correct duty point, plus equipment supply, commissioning and after-sales service. The mill can be delivered as a single unit or integrated into a complete feeding, conveying, storage and packing line.
