In the industrial grinding industry, gypsum powder processing plays a crucial role. As one of the five major cementing materials, gypsum powder is widely used in construction, mold making, chemical industry, agriculture, food processing, and even medical aesthetics. How to efficiently and on a large scale process gypsum raw materials into fine powder that meets the requirements of different industries is a core issue of concern for many manufacturers. This article will use a case study of a 300-ton-per-day gypsum powder production line exported to Nigeria to detail its process flow and key equipment configuration.
Gypsum Powder Processing Introduction
Gypsum powder is typically made from natural gypsum ore through a series of processes including crushing, grinding, and drying. The fineness of the finished product is generally between 80-325 mesh. A complete gypsum powder production line mainly includes crushing equipment, grinding equipment, drying equipment, and supporting conveying, sorting, and dust removal systems.
300-Ton-Per-Day Gypsum Powder Production Line Process and Equipment Analysis
The Nigerian customer's requirement was to process 300 tons of gypsum daily into powder for construction. Assuming a 10-hour workday, the production line needs to process 30 tons of raw material per hour. Our core process plan is as follows:
1. Coarse Crushing Stage: PE400×600 Jaw Crusher
Responsible for crushing large gypsum raw materials (300–500mm) into particles approximately 150mm, preparing for subsequent fine crushing.
2. Medium and Fine Crushing Stage: CS75 Cone Crusher
Receives material from the jaw crusher for secondary crushing. The cone crusher is suitable for medium to high hardness materials, producing uniform particle size. An impact crusher can also be selected based on material characteristics.
3. Grinding Stage: Ф2100×4500 Ball Mill
The crushed gypsum enters the ball mill for fine grinding, ensuring that over 90% of the finished product particle size is finer than 149μm (100 mesh). The ground powder is discharged with the airflow and collected by a cyclone collector.
4. Drying Stage: Ф2.8×6m Rotary Dryer
Gypsum powder often contains a certain amount of moisture. The rotary dryer employs scientific drying technology to effectively control the moisture content of the finished product, ensuring powder flowability and stability.
5. Auxiliary Systems
The entire line is equipped with a bucket elevator (multi-stage conveyor), powder separator, dust collector, etc., achieving automated and environmentally friendly production.
Why is this production line suitable for large-scale gypsum powder processing?
• Compact Process: The entire line is integrated from crushing to drying, with reasonable capacity matching and stable operation;
• Mature Equipment Selection: Raymond mills, ball mills, and rotary dryers are all commonly used equipment in gypsum processing, convenient to maintain and highly durable;
• Customizable Expansion: Equipment models or process sequences can be adjusted according to customer requirements for fineness, output, moisture content, etc.
We have exported gypsum powder processing equipment, including Raymond mills, ball mills, and complete production lines, to many countries. If you have similar project needs, please contact us for customized solutions.
